Important Overnight Camper Information
Airport Pick-up and Drop-Off

Those campers flying in from out of the area that need to be picked up from the airport need to e-mail all their flight information to Etop Udo-Ema (udoema@aol.com) in advance so that camp staff will be able to coordinate picking you up from the airport.  We are able to pick-up campers from the following two airports:

1) Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) - located 15 minutes from Lynwood HS.  All major airlines fly in and out of LAX

2 ) Long Beach Airport - located 15 minutes from Lynwood HS.  Jet Blue, US Airlines and Alaska Airlines fly in and out of Long Beach.

Please arrive in Los Angeles between 7:00am-10:00am on July 10th and depart anytime after 8:00pm on July 12th

When you arrive at either airport, please proceed to curbside so that we can pick you up easily.  Due to airport security regulations, camp staff picking up passengers from either airport are not permitted to park and wait for passengers so please do not wait inside the terminal.  We can't stop and wait for you.  Please proceed to curbside,

If there is a problem with your airport pick-up, please call Etop Udo-Ema on his cell at (562) 714-0422.  Please keep this number handy and with you as you arrive in case there is a problem.

Please e-mail all flight info to Etop Udo-Ema (udoema@aol.com) no later than Friday July 6th.  We cannot guarantee airport pick-up for those campers who do not provide their flight info by this date and they will have to arrange for a cab or private shuttle (at their own expense) to Lynwood HS.

Hotel Check-in

Overnight campers being picked-up from area airports will be taken to Lynwood HS first - not to the Quality Inn (Carson CA).  Your bags will be securely stored at Lynwood HS and you will be transported to the Quality Inn and officially check-in to your designated hotel rooms after your last camp game ends on July 10th.   There will be a hotel shuttle that will transport campers to and from Lynwood HS during the remainder off the camp (a camp shuttle schedule will be posted at the camp).

At the conclusion of camp, campers will be transported directly from Lynwood HS to the airport for your return flight.  Please make sure that you are checked out of your room and that you have all your belongings with you when you arrive at Lynwood HS for the last round of camp games.  We will not be taking you back to the Quality Inn after the hotel shuttle transports you to the camp on July 12th.  So please follow these instructions.

Overnight campers having their own automobile transportation or players having their parents transport them to and from Lynwood HS and the hotel can check with Etop as to the exact time that they can check-in to the hotel.

What To Bring

We will be providing you a reversible black/white camp jersey with a distinct uniform number that will identify you to all the college coaches and scouts that will be attending.  Please do not lose this jersey once it has been issued because that jersey will be the main way of your identification to these coaches and scouts.  Please bring a couple of your own shorts, plenty of t-shirts, underwear and socks, basketball shoes, toothbrush and toothpaste and other toiletries that promote good hygiene (things you normally use like deodorant, mouthwash and Q-Tips). At the conclusion of the camp you will be turning in this reversible black/white camp jersey in exchange for a camp t-shirt.

Meals

Overnight campers will be having breakfast (on July 11th and 12th) at the hotel and lunch and dinner (July 10th and 11th) and lunch (July 12th) at Lynwood HS.  Please bring additional snack money in case you desire to purchase additional food from the camp snack bar or from food places around the hotel.

Please direct any further questions to camp co-director Etop Udo-Ema at (562) 714-0422 or e-mail him at:  udoema@aol.com
