NCAA Requirements for Summer 2007 Events
1. Coach Certification (men’s & women’s coaches - *NEW*): All individuals who engage in coaching activities at an NCAA-certified men's & women’s summer 2007 basketball events must be approved through the NCAA Coaches Approval Process. NCAA staff members who are employed at a summer event are not required to complete this process, but all other individuals, including high school, junior college, and prep school coaches are required to obtain the requisite approval. The approval process consists of an application, a criminal background verification, an authorization for release of information, and an NCAA rules educational component. Use this link to apply for NCAA Coach Certification: NCAA Summer Coaches Approval Process. Only NCAA-approved coaches are allowed to sit on the team bench during an NCAA certified event.
Individuals who engaged in coaching activities at an NCAA-certified men's summer basketball event during the summer of 2006 and need to access their approval number may do so using the following link: Approved Coaches for 2007. The LexisNexis approval issued to coaches is good for a two-year period (the year issued and the year following - not a literal two years from the date issued).
