2006 Fullcourt Press All-West Camp

Top 90 All-Star Player Notes

 

The first of three all-star games held to conclude the 2006 Fullcourt Press All-West Camp on July 11-13 at the SCBA Center in Cypress CA had a solid group of players and past camps have shown that “diamonds in the rough” are often on display in this game.  Past participants in the Top 90 game include Ryan Hollins (UCLA/Charlotte Bobcats), Rod Benson (Cal), Drew Shiller (Stanford) and Justin Hawkins (Utah/New Mexico State).

 

Avner Alkhas                       6’3”     Sr.       Northwood (Irvine CA)

Tough combo-guard has deep 3-point stroke.  Terrific student is a good ballhandler and solid defender.

 

La’shard Anderson            5’10”  Sr.       Serra (San Diego CA)

Crafty floorleader has a smooth handle and can get to the basket to score.  Good student is a real West Coast sleeper at the PG position.

 

Pierce Brooks                     6’7”     Sr.       Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks CA)

Underrated forward bangs well down low and has underrated scoring ability.  Great kid!

 

Shane Burrell                      6’7”     Jr.       Genesis One (Mendenhall MS)

Burly and physical post is a former Dorsey (Los Angeles CA) player that has made very nice progress and is now a tough rebounder in the paint.

 

Flynn Clayman                    6’9”     Sr.       New Roads (Santa Monica CA)

Skilled “big” has three-point range on his jump shot and is a fine passer.  Improved rebounder and defender.

 

Dylan DeFeo                        6’2”     Jr.       Lely (Naples FL)

Originally from Southern California (started HS at Mater Dei/Santa Ana CA), DeFeo has developed nicely into a sharp-shooting point with size.   Very good student.

 

Kirdy Elisadez                     5’9”     Sr.       Villa Park (Villa Park CA)

“Tough as nails” point makes big plays and has the heart of a lion.  Terrific floor-general.

 

Tyler Gage                            6’3”     Jr.       Salpointe (Tucson AZ)

Outstanding shooter has expanded his all-around game as well.  Very improved athlete is a terrific student!

 

Nick Ghiz                              6’2”     Sr.       Marcos de Niza (Tempe AZ)

Hard-nosed combo-guard can score and plays excellent defense.  Solid student.

 

Dalton Groskreutz             6’5”     Jr.       Snow Canyon (St. George UT)

Skilled small-forward has nice perimeter skills. Excellent student!

 

Loren Heard                                    6’0”     Sr.       Jordan (Long Beach CA)

Solid point is a pesky on-ball defender.

 

Stephen Heard                    6’5”     So.      Jordan (Long Beach CA)

Athletic young wing is a slashing scorer that has promise.

 

Bo Henning                         6’3”     Sr.       Christian Brothers (Sacramento CA)

Wing guard has terrific court savvy and can knock down shots.

 

Jordan Hill                            6’4”     Jr.       Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas NV)

Athletic wing runs floor well and can finish in transition.  One to track!

 

Dijon Horne                         6’2”     Sr.       Ocean View (Huntington Beach CA)

Very improved combo-guard has underrated three-point stroke.

 

Ryan Howley                       6’5”     Jr.       Sinagua (Flagstaff AZ)

Scrappy forward is active in the paint and plays solid defense.  Excellent student.

 

Andrew Jenkins                 6’7”     post.   San Gorgonio (San Bernardino CA)

Physical and active power-forward can score with regularity in the paint.

 

Marcus Johnson                5’11”  Jr.       Joel John (Los Angeles CA)

Smooth point is a very nice ballhandler and is quick off the dribble.

 

Omari Johnson                   5’10’   post.   Jordan (Long Beach CA)

Super quick point beats defensive pressure with ease.

 

Milos Knezevic                   6’6”     So.      Coronado (Las Vegas NV)

Very skilled and talented Vegas forward has a strong physique and a nice basketball IQ.  Very good student.

 

Aru Kok                                 6’11”  Jr.       American Int’l (Sydney Australia)

Very raw and long center needs work, but is an intriguing international prospect.  Sudanese refugee is an effective rebounder and defender with huge potential!

 

Brian Louff                           5’10”  Sr.       Santa Monica (Santa Monica CA)

Louff can flat-out shoot the basketball and is an underrated ballhandler and passer.  Good student.

 

Rashad Lucas                     6’2”     Jr.       Blue Springs South (Blue Springs MO)

Strong and physical guard can finish in traffic.

 

Stedman Merritt                  6’2”     Sr.       Colony (Ontario CA)

High scoring (92 octane) guard is a threat anywhere within 23 feet.

 

Justin McCullough                        6’6”     Sr.       Sunrise Mountain (Peoria AZ)

Active combo-forward runs floor well and rebounds with most. Very good student.

 

James Rahon                      6’3”     Jr.       Torrey Pines (San Diego CA)

Sleeper wing can really shoot the rock.  Rahon’s HS coach John Olive (formerly the head coach at Loyola Marymount and an assistant at Villanova) calls him the best guard he has coached at the San Diego-area school.  Excellent student.

 

Fernand Rwanteli               7’0”     Jr.       Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas NV)

“Long” is an understatement when describing Fernand.    Good shotblocker and rebounder needs to time to fill out, but the potential is there to be an impact player.

 

Ian Salters                            6’10”  Jr.       Marin Catholic (Kentfield CA)

Center with size is not a finished product but is agile with good hands.  Big man worth a long look.

 

Tyler Tucker                                    5’9”     Sr.       Crawford (San Diego CA)

Excellent defender has committed to Pepperdine.

 

Matt Wallace                        6’1”     Sr.       City Honors (Inglewood CA)

Very improved lead guard has nice scoring skills.  Good student.

 

Jonathan Williams             6’5”     Jr.       El Cerrito (El Cerrito CA)

Athletic swingman is a solid defender with ability to finish in traffic.  Solid student.

 

Keith Wiltz                            5’10”  Sr.       JW North (Riverside CA)

Quick PG has nice handle and can deal with defensive pressure well.
