2019 Fullcourt Press Spring League: Report I
(February 25, 2019)

The 2019 Fullcourt Press Spring League tipped-off this past Sunday (February 24th) at Santiago High School (Garden Grove CA).  Opening day featured several impressive performances and Alex Carmon from Beach City Hoops was in the house shooting video highlights.

While we are still waiting for several of the league’s expected players that have just finished or are still finishing their HS playoffs to join the league, listed below are just a few of the standouts from the league’s opening Sunday.  Others will be featured in the next reports.

TJ Wainwright                                 6’2”     2021   Santa Monica (Santa Monica CA)
Lefty scoring combo-guard with shifty ballhandling ability and on-point passing skills. Very improved defender and rebounder too. Perimeter stroke was working here on Sunday – had multiple 30+ games.

TJ had a very solid soph season at Santa Monica after transferring from Culver City (where he was in the starting line-up as a freshman). Unofficially visited LSU last November. Cousin is New Orleans Saints star WF Michael Thomas.

Julian Rishwain                              6’5”     2019   Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks CA)
Boston College-bound WG is a smooth as silk jump shooter with underrated athleticism.  High-major basketball IQ and instincts.  Love his work-ethic as he is already signed but yet committed to keep getting better every day both in work-outs and in game situations.

Dorian Harris                                   6’6”     2019   Elite Prep (Los Angeles CA)
Cerritos CA native is a strong & assertive WF that can finish through contact. Recently scored an Idaho offer & will visit the Vandals within the next few weeks.

Christian Moore                              6’4”     2022   Brentwood (Los Angeles CA)
Great looking young wing is athletic attacking the basket and has nice touch on his mid-range jump shot.  HM player in the making has an older brother (Payton Moore) playing at Rice.  Love this kid’s upside and should thrive under the tutelage of Brentwood head coach Moose Bailey (a former UCLA guard).

Jorge Ochoa                                    6’7”     2022   Orange Lutheran (Orange CA)
Confident scoring forward has legitimate range on jump shot and nice ballhandling ability in the open floor.

Cameron Denison                          6’6”     2019   Compton (Compton CA)
Athletic, slashing scorer with tools to be an excellent defender.  Projects to be a mid-major or higher prospect after a couple of years of seasoning in junior college.

Jesse Stines                                    6’5”     2019   Sonora (La Habra CA)
Senior swingman with nice “catch & shoot” range as well as ability to get to hoop and score off the bounce.  Orange County unsigned senior sleeper.

Jabari Steward                               6’7”     2020   Compton (Compton CA)
Burley PF is productive in the paint and can score in a variety of ways.

Everett May                                      6’5”     2021   Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos CA)
Skilled and heady swingman with 3-point range on his jump shot and rangy ability to get to cup and finish.  SoCal 2021 sleeper’s dad Russ May is the head coach at Cerritos College.

Koby Malone                                   6’4”     2020   Compton (Compton CA)
Wiry wing with nice touch and range on his perimeter shot.

Brandon Perez                                6’2”     2022   Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks CA)
Tough, hard-nosed SG can really stroke it.  Ivy League alert: Perez has a stellar 3.6 GPA.

Dominic Woods                              6’3”     2020   Serra (Gardena CA)
Crafty WG is an underrated athlete and perimeter shooter.

Devin Walker Lewis                       6’4”     2021   Los Altos (Hacienda Heights CA)

Strong wing with nice spot-up shooting ability.

Jeremiah Mitchell                           6’1”     2020   Valley View (Moreno Valley CA)
Assertive and active combo-guard is a pesky defender.  Older brother Mike Snaer starred in the ACC at Florida State.

Anthony Taylor                               6’0”     2019   Paraclete (Lancaster CA)
Quick lead guard pushes rock in transition and is a very good on-ball defender.

Ashton Hardaway                          6’4”     2023   Carson CA

Young wing has a diverse skill set with potential to be a very fine player both in high school and on D1 level. Son of former NBA great and current Memphis coach Penny Hardaway.
